PAST
2017 has proven that the African-American woman and women in general have the power to mobilized, organize and work together to move the world forward.  It's not about money or ego, it's all about working together and moving together as a unified group.  Recognizing that at the end of the day, we are all on this planet together so let's get along.

There have been several examples of people that have personified this global empowerment movement.  Individual ladies like Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Tererai Trent (more below) and groups that include Breakers #meToo, The Women's Empowerment Movement 2017 and African-American Women In Cinema (more below).

PRESENT
Dr. Tererai Trent (Author/Mother/Leader) is leading women to a new degree of self empowerment with sister circles. The Awakened Woman - Remembering & Reigniting Our Sacred Dreams is a book that inspires hope and motivates women and other readers to be active in their own lives and dreams.  Turning dreams into goals and devising a plan to make these goals into reality.  Something that seems so far away is truly within the persons reach with hard work and diligence.

Dr. Trent from her humble beginnings in a small Zimbabwe village to starting schools for young girls with Oprah Winfrey.  She indeed is someone to get to know, who has the knowledge and experience to help anyone move forward.


 FUTURE
For the past 20 years, African-American Women In Cinema founded by Terra Renee, have given many African-American filmmakers and minority women filmmakers, the opportunity to showcase their work and further career goals via the Annual AAWIC Film Festival.

 We also have provided opportunities for filmmakers through our many partnerships, with a big salute to all of our sponsors including Walmart, Sag Indie and SAG indie to name a few.  This year AAWIC celebrates its' 20th AAWIC Film Festival.  We look forward to empowering women and making history.



 AAWIC MEMBERSHIP
AAWIC is seeking all levels of assistance via financial support, in-kind donations or resources to provide powerful advancement work opportunities for these female filmmakers.

 Immediate support can be given by getting an AAWIC Membership for yourself or as a gift to an aspiring female filmmaker today.

2018 is looking like a canon waiting to shoot out awesome opportunities for those willing to work together to help each other move forward.

Sometimes people can get so caught up in the 'Me Syndrome' that when they look up they realize they are all alone.  This year, lets join  the "We Syndrome" and  recognized the valuable assets of others to win.  

 Hopefully, when they look around and see that you have supported them, they will reach back and do the same for you.
